In the honour of Academy member, prof. dr. Hrvoje Požar, the scientist and expert who initiated research of the electric power system in Croatia and established the Croatian energy school, the Association has established the Foundation "Hrvoje Požar" whose tasks consists of the following:

• granting of scholarship to junior energy experts (secondary school students, undergraduate and postgraduate students, doctoral and post-doctoral candidates),
  
• financing of scientific research of junior energy experts (study research, experiments, prototypes and patents),
  
• publishing of books, monographs, mimeographed notes and articles,
  
• purchasing of equipment, books, magazines and computer programmes,
  
• organising of study trips and visits,
  
• awarding of scientific achievements.

The Foundation (The Main Board) grants the annual award "Hrvoje Požar" to scientists and experts for:

• significant expert and scientific work in the development of energy industry,
  
• innovations in the field of energy industry,
  
• realised project of rational energy management,
  
• enhancement of environmental quality connected with energy facilities,
  
• popularisation of energy industry.

Students of energy departments will be awarded the annual prize for:

• exceptional scholastic ability, and/or
  
• noted graduation thesis
